GGG advocate girls to go get opportunities that they deserve.
According to UNICEF, about 1 in 10 African girls skips school during menstruation because they don’t have sanitary pads.
In Ethiopia, the rate is even higher. Out of its 107,500,000 population, 53,800,000 are female, and only 25% of them have access to proper MHM (Mensuration Health Management) products, i.e. sanitary pads. Without MHM, school girls have to go home during their mensuration period (and let it bleed out), missing out 1 week of school every month, which coincidentally, comes up to 25% of learning opportunity as well.
Providing them with reusable sanitary pads gives them a sustainable solution to reclaim their lost 25% of learning opportunities at school during mensuration period. GGG wants to provide these Ethiopian girls with one perspective: Girls have the rights to pursue dreams too. Girls, go get!
